Big Chip Poker Full Review
Game Variety, Limits, and Traffic: B-
Big Chip Poker is on the same network as Absolute Poker and therefore shares
its players and games. It offers the 5 standard games:
Texas Hold 'Em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card
Stud, and 7 Card Stud H/L as well as a
several heads up ring game hold 'em.
Big Chip Poker has a good variety of
short handed and full tables. Finding a game
here is normally not difficult. Micro limits
are offered here, as low as $.02/.04 in
fixed limit and $.10/$.25 in NL. The upper
limits are at $50/$100 for fixed limit and
$5/$10 for NL, although the traffic at the
higher tables is somewhat light. The overall
traffic on the site is alright, having about
2500 ring game players and about 4000
tournament players at peak hours. The only
disadvantage here is that the traffic is
primarily at the smaller limits and
primarily in hold 'em.
Software: B
The Big Chip Poker software is quite good. The check/raise/call
buttons are large and the software does not glitch. The speed of
gameplay is average and there is no annoying "Congratulations" after
winning a pot. Players are allowed to put up their own icons;
however, if one is not chosen, Big Chip Poker automatically puts one
up with their logo. Making private tables here is allowed for all
real money players and is very convenient for a friendly online
game. A major disadvantage to the lobby is that play money games
cannot be filtered out, but other than this the software is overall
attractive.
Softness of Games: B-
Because the overall traffic is weighted towards lower limits, the
overall games are pretty loose with a flop seen percentage in the
40s at the lowest. At the medium and higher limits (1/2NL and above)
the games become considerably more difficult. Players are better
than average here and money here is hard earned.
Rakeback: B
The rakeback percentage is about as much as the highest percentages
of other rooms its size. Big Chip is a great alternative to receiving rakeback
on the network if you already have an account at Absolute Poker. The
only difference is that bonuses are deducted from your Monthly Gross Rake.
Promotions: A+
Big Chip offers a variety of different deposit bonus options. All
are good bonuses, but are pretty difficult to clear at limits below
.25/.50 NL. The bonus is released in increments with 100 Points releasing $10. 1 point is awarded for pots
totaling $5 or more. Weekly reloads are also available on Saturday
and Sunday. The bonuses are stackable but expire after 60 days.
These bonuses will not deduct from your rakeback and it is highly
recommended you take advantage of these. Big Chip Poker also offers
various freerolls, including those for the WSOP.
Deposits/Withdrawals: B+
Big Chip Poker has many deposit options: NETeller, CentralCoin,
FirePay, VISA, MasterCard, Electronic Check, Bank Draft, and Wire
Transfer. Cashouts are limited to NETeller, Firepay and Check. The
average NETeller cashout time is about 1 day.
Support: B
At this time, only email support is offered. However, Big Chip's support
is pretty quick, responding to my queries in about 35-45 minutes.
