Frequently Asked Questions

What is rake?

Rake is the amount of money the house takes from each pot as a fee for playing at the site. The total rake a player produces in a month is called Monthly Gross Rake (MGR).

How much rake does the house take?

The exact details differ from site to site. Generally, poker sites take 5% after the pot reaches a certain size, normally $1 or $5. For most No Limit games, the max rake is capped at $3. Fixed Limit games are normally capped at $1 per hand, but some sites cap at $1.50. If you would like to get an estimate on how much rake the house takes, try using a rakeback percentage of 100% in our rakeback calculator.

What is rakeback?

Rakeback is a system in which the player receives a percentage of all the revenue the site makes from the player. Some sites such as Battlefield Poker have rakeback automatically integrated into their system.

Do tournament fees go towards my rakeback?

With the exception of a few sites, Sit 'n Go and MTT fees go towards the rake total. Ultimate Bet is an exception.

How is rakeback calculated?

There are two ways poker sites use to calculate how much rake an individual player, dealt and contributed. In the dealt method, the total rake taken in a hand is divided by the number of players dealt cards in the hand to give the individual rake. In the contributed method, the total amount that was raked is divided based on the percentage of the pot that each player contributed to the pot. After the individual rake is calculated, this amount is multiplied by the rakeback percentage to give the rakeback. Try our rakeback calculator to get an estimate.

Can I sign up for rakeback at a site where I already have an account?

No. Rakeback deals apply only for NEW accounts. Any false accounts that are caught will have their rakeback promotion for the site nullified.

What can I do if already have an account at a site but would like rakeback at it?

If you look at the right side of the Rakeback Section, you will see a column named 'Network'. If a room does not have a network labeled 'Independent', then there is probably a 'poker skin' of the site. Skins on the same network share the same players and tournaments. You are allowed to open an account with rakeback at a skin of a poker room. For example, if you are have an account at Titan Poker without rakeback, you are allowed to make a new account at Noble Poker that has rakeback attached to it.

How do I sign up for rakeback?

Go to either the menu on the right or Rakeback tab. There you will find a list of our special deals.

Is there an advantage for signing up with rakeback as opposed to signing up for a deposit?

Every site offers the same signup bonus regardless of whether or not you have a rakeback account. On every site it is beneficial to sign up for rakeback as there is nothing to lose. For a list of great bonuses, try our Bonus Section.

Do deposit bonuses affect my rakeback?

For several of the promotions, the rakeback will begin as soon as the bonuses are cleared. For some sites such as Absolute Poker, a deposit bonus will not affect your rakeback. As soon as you sign up, you will receive rakeback and clear a deposit bonus at the same time! At Ultimate Bet, 25% of the cleared bonus is subtracted from the total rakeback.

Other than straight into my poker account, is there any alternative method of payment?

Yes. We are also able to send you money across Neteller. If you'd like another method of payment send us contact us and we will find an appropriate method.

How often will payments come?

This depends on the poker site. At almost every site, we offer daily stats and cashout options in our Member Section. At some sites, such as Absolute Poker, payments will only be made once a month. Check out the information page for the particular site to find out.
